The Ramblers is Britain’s walking charity working to protect and expand the places people love to walk and promote walking for health and pleasure. They are an association of people and groups who come together to enjoy walking. They organise group walks and once you’re a member you can join a walk anywhere in the country. They offer information about walk routes and work on preserving footpaths and conserving the environment. They also run projects to educate people about the health benefits of outdoor pursuits and to help people get active. The Ramblers covers the whole of the UK, but Scotland and Wales have their own independent representative body for walkers in these nations – Ramblers Scotland and Ramblers Cymru. Search on the Ramblers website for walking routes and groups local to you.
